It is important to note the data that reveals the inequities that exist for Black women in nonprofit management and philanthropy.

The landmark Pocket Change report revealed that out of the total $66.9 Billion that is given to women-led nonprofits, only 5% of that total goes to organizations led by Black women.

The Race to Lead study also demonstrates the obstacles for Black women working in nonprofit management. For example, more than a third of Black women (34%) said they often or always are paid less than peers for similar work.
